One of the main tasks of the local government of the Pomorskie Voivodeship is to improve the health of the inhabitants. Therefore, the objectives of the Regional Strategic Program Health for Pomeranians are: to increase the awareness and knowledge of the inhabitants regarding the prevention and early detection of civilization diseases, to improve the efficiency of the health system and to ensure equal access to health services. Under the Regional Operational Programme, the local government of the Pomorskie Voivodeship finances projects aimed at strengthening the health of Pomeranians, e.g. by encouraging and enabling them to participate in screening tests, such as breast, cervical and colorectal cancer, as well as prevention and intervention programs in chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and cardiac rehabilitation.

Activities aimed at promotion and health education are also carried out, e.g. during festivals and local events, and as part of the Pomorskie for Health campaign.
