Infrastructure Department’s responsibilities include classifying roads into national, voivodeship’s, and county categories. It organizes public transportation.

It monitors road investments carried out by the Voivodeship Road Authority in Gdańsk. It supervises state examinations for persons applying for driving licenses and keeps records of examiners. It manages traffic on voivodeship’s roads and issues permits for regular and special transport in domestic road transport.

It is responsible for granting permits for the wholesale trade in alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of up to 18% to entrepreneurs based in the voivodeship. Its tasks also include the management of railway vehicles.

In addition, it carries out activities related to the revitalization of inland waterways and tasks related to the establishment of the Regional Public Transport Authority.
