The Department of Tourism and Sport supervises and implements tourism projects co-financed by the voivodeship, organizes meetings and conferences on tourism, manages the website Pomorskie.travel, cooperates with the Pomeranian Regional Tourist Organization and local tourist organizations, and initiates and undertakes activities for the development of the voivodeship’s tourist brand.

Its tasks include categorizing hotel facilities, keeping records of hotel facilities and a register of tour operators and travel agents operating in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, as well as inspecting these entities.

In addition, the department also performs tasks related to representing clients in matters concerning the payment of funds from guarantees to insurers.

Department of Tourism and Sport creates legal, organizational, and economic conditions for the development of physical culture in the region, including:

• implementing projects in the field of physical culture by granting targeted subsidies for the organization and conduct of training and competition in sports in the voivodeship,
• monitors the proper implementation of tasks related to the allocation of targeted subsidies,
• performs tasks related to the awarding of sports scholarships,
• performs tasks related to the awarding of prizes and distinctions by the marshal in the field of physical culture,
• participates in the organization of sporting events promoting sport in the voivodeship,
• develops and implements a long-term program for the development of sports facilities and other programs in cooperation with the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and local government units.
