Department of Health supervises and evaluates the activities of entities performing healthcare services. It monitors the implementation of healthcare tasks and programs that are the voivodeship’s responsibility. It also carries out tasks related to the implementation of healthcare programs and health promotion.

It collaborates with the National Health Fund in providing healthcare services to the region’s residents. Department of Health manages matters related to postgraduate internships for medical doctors and dentists.

It also handles matters related to the appointment and dismissal of members of social boards of entities performing healthcare services. It is responsible for developing the voivodeship’s healthcare strategy.
