The Pomorskie economy is in a stable position compared to other voivodeships (7th in terms of GDP and 5th in terms of GDP per capita). Almost half of the regional GDP is generated in the Tri-City, where the highest level of GDP per capita is also recorded. It is also here that most investments with foreign capital are located. Their number places the voivodeship on the 7th position in Poland.

The Pomorska economy is oriented towards services, among which tourism plays an important role, but also the maritime industry, petrochemical, wood and furniture, construction and electro-mechanical industries. Important sectors also include: electronics, logistics, modern business services, ICT, biotechnology and light chemistry as well as agri-food processing (including fish processing).

The provincial government, in cooperation with the Voivodeship Labor Office in Gdańsk and the Pomerania Development Agency, consistently implement the Strategy of the Pomorskie Voivodeship 2030, which assumes that in 10 years Pomorskie will be characterized by a resilient economy, attractive to native entrepreneurs, external investors and tourists, immigrants, scientists and students. The investments carried out and support for entrepreneurs make the region a place that draws on new trends and technologies, using unique advantages related to its seaside location, strong entrepreneurial attitudes of the inhabitants of the voivodeship and their comprehensive qualifications. Dynamically developing Pomorskie provides the inhabitants of the voivodeship with high quality of work, numerous free time offers and strives to fully integrate the economy with the global transport system.
