Provincial Surveyor’s Office

The Provincial Surveyor’s Office, in particular:

1) performs the tasks of the marshal in the field of geodesy and cartography, with the assistance of the provincial surveyor, and in particular:

  1. maintains the provincial geodesy and cartography resources;
  2. prepares and makes available thematic cartographic studies for the province;
  3. creates, in consultation with the Chief Surveyor of the Country, and maintains and makes available databases of topographic objects with a level of detail sufficient to enable the preparation of standard cartographic studies at scales of 1: 10,000 – 1:100,000, including cartographic studies of the digital terrain model and standard cartographic studies at scales of 1:10,000 – 1:100,000;
  4. performs analyses of changes in the agricultural structure and plans agricultural development works;
  5. monitors changes in land use and land classification;
  6. cooperates with the Chief Surveyor of Poland in maintaining the state register of boundaries and areas of territorial divisions of the country, in the part concerning the province;

2) manages and supervises projects in the field of geodesy and cartography co-financed from European funds;

3) the Provincial Geodesy and Cartography Center and the Land Information Systems Laboratory operate within the organizational structure of the BGW, with the status of a department.
